When to ask for medical advice of Asperger Syndrome for your children
March 21st, 2007if your elementary school child has frequent problems in school or seems unable to make friends, it’s time to consult your pediatrician. These difficulties have many possible causes, but developmental disorders such as Asperger’s syndrome shouldn’t be ruled out. Children whose eccentricities interfere with learning and social development should have a comprehensive evaluation.
Medical care is also indicated when psychopharmacologic treatment is considered for the management of problematic behaviors or symptoms associated with Asperger syndrome.
