Vitamins good for Autism
July 31st, 2007Ask:
Is there any good vitamins out there for Autism and what are they?
Answer:
I use vitamins for my kids from Nature’s Sunshine. While they are not particularly good for Autism they are easy to give to kids because they taste good:

My oldest child has symptoms of autism and we just got a very interesting program that was designed by someone who had suffered with autism as a child. The program is cds you listen to at night to help the brain function better. Here’s a link:
It’s amazing – we have noticed a difference in just a few days.
Of course the gluten free, casein free diet is very popular, as is the chelation therapy – removing excess minerals and toxins. DHA is also thought to be very helpful – its a fish oil that helps the brain. I have found these with a strawberry coating for kids – my kids love them.
PS – I also want to add that B vitamins seem very important. My child is on a lot of Panothenic Acid for these symptoms too.
PPS – I just heard today that it is a hormonal issue, why autism is more prevalent in Males than Females. I am going to look into some Yam Cream (natural plant based progesterone) to see if that can help her. Every female can benefit from Yam cream – let me know if you are interested in this sort of thing and I will keep you posted on what I find out.
