Fertility drugs increase the chances of autism
September 3rd, 2007Q:I have a friend that took fertility drugs to have children, she had twins, the daughter is normal but the son has autism. I was wondering if the drugs she took had something to do with this disability.
Answer:
No.Among the “possible” causes I have heard (note NONE of these have been proven, and the shots have been disproven, but there is a good amount of skepticism surrounding that study):
immunization shots (I highly doubt)
Milk or wheat allergy (probably not the cause, but cutting out all dairy and wheat seems to help many autistic kids)
Pitocin (highly unlikely)
Genetics (more than 1 gene)
Too much seratonin.
