How much do autism tests cost
September 6th, 2007Q:For the past few months I’ve been reading about autism and I think there is a possibility that I have a mild case of austism. It seems like it would make certain things in my life make a lot more sense (like my problem with being social, the way I look at numbers, and the fact that I connect two words that most seem completly different). I was wondering if there’s a way I can get tested for it?
Answer:
There are mild to severe cases. Aspergers Syndrome is a form of milder autism that effects social aspects of a person’s life. I would think you could go to a counselor or psychiatrist and be evaluated. Your insurance should cover it, or if you have none, go to a community clinic that has couseling services. We have helped the children we work with greatly through methods called Applied Behavior Analysis. Not to upset you or anything, but look up the symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder. OCD is sometimes a conponent of Autism. OCD is also very treatable.
Good Luck to you. I wish you all the best.
