Q:I believe that vaccines caused autism in my children. I am writing a pursuasive essay on this and need a strong thesis statement.

Answer:

“A mercury-based preservative known as Thimerosal can cause autism in young children who are sensitive to the chemical”

I would suggest pooling your information first, then finding the common thread. But make it broad and then support it.

What do you suggest be done about it? Maybe your thesis should be “thimerosal should be banned from all vaccines because it causes autism in sensitive patients.”

There’s a lot of literature on this already. there’s actually kind of a sweet internet comic about a kid with autism caused by mercury poisoning . It’s called “the chelation kid” and it’s kind of a graphic persuasive essay in itself. You might look at it for inspiration. I’ve provided a link to it below..
