Actually, I’d place Rainman at the moderate-severe end of the Autism Spectrum.

Mild Autism would present itself with a language delay, lack of full eye contact, possibly sensory integration issues, social and/or behavioral issues.

Autism is so different in every individual, so it is really hard to tell. Look at the list of signs and symptoms, and become familiar with them.
