Maslow’s theory was based on only fit and healthy people as he himself said “the study of crippled, stunted, immature, and unhealthy specimens can yield only a cripple psychology and a cripple philosophy.”

It ws written during the time of eugenics and whilst relevant in some aspects, lacks in understanding of those who are mentally different.
