It depends on the severity of the autism. Autism has severe effects most dealing with the inability to communicate or function in normal society. It can slow their speech development, even some motor skills.

Autism is not a hobby, its a way of living, without other choice. Autistic children do not show emotion. They see people merly as objects. They might not know how their action affect other people. Most of them are very bright, smarter than the average kids. A lot of them have photographic memories.

But over-diagnosis of autism because the child is not well disciplined is a real problem, lack of concentration does not equal autism.
