GPS services for autism
November 29th, 2007Q: Do you know of a GPS system for kids or people with autism or alzheimers. I have been researching it online, but can?? find anything.
Answer:
There is something that was being worked on a few years ago called a Verichip. It worked similar to the kind that are injected under the skin of pets-the size of a small grain of rice, but instead of having information (or perhaps in addition to) it also was to have a tracking device that worked with satellite and you could track the chip from a special website from your home or wherever there was a computer. I know the chip was to have one cost, and the website access was a monthly fee, if I remember correctly. It was an idea still in the works a few years ago. but there were many people with many very strong opinions about whether this was a good idea or not. I was leaning towards it being a better idea than the alternative, despite having the whole Big Brother undertones.
